Corrections and removals
If something on this site is wrong, tell us and we will deal with it. Write to corrections@tagproof.io with the facility name and CMS Certification Number.
Our commitment
- Acknowledged within two business days, by a person.
- Resolved or explained within ten business days. If it takes longer we will say why and when.
- A page is removed on request from the operator, without argument and without requiring a reason.
What we can and cannot change
Worth being plain about this, because it is the part people are most often surprised by.
We displayed something incorrectly — ours to fix
Wrong facility, wrong location, a broken link, a figure that does not match the federal file, or a calculation that does not follow our own published methodology. Tell us and we will correct it and say what changed.
The CMS record itself is wrong — not ours to amend
We republish the federal record as CMS publishes it, and we cannot change what CMS holds. A disputed citation is corrected with the state survey agency that issued it, through CMS’s Informal Dispute Resolution process. When the federal file changes, this site follows at the next monthly refresh.
In the meantime we will annotate the page to say the operator disputes the finding, at your request. Where CMS has flagged a citation as under dispute, we show that already — though only 36 of 200,327 citations carry such a flag, so most disputes never appear in the federal data at all.
You would rather the page did not exist — your call
Ask and it comes down. The underlying data stays public on CMS’s own site either way, so nothing is concealed by removing our page; we would simply rather not host a page an operator does not want.
If you are a TagProof customer
It makes no difference here, by design. A facility’s position is computed from public CMS files by the published methodology, and nothing about a commercial relationship enters the calculation. Being a customer does not improve a page, and declining to be one does not worsen it. Corrections are handled the same way whoever asks.
